A Global Gallery of Dogknit Creations

Mazz Irwin from Australia knit this beautiful hat from her Maremma sheepdog, Luca.

He’s a handsome fellow! The breed originated in Italy, and may be an ancestor of the

Great Pyrenees. We hear they shed their winter coat completely in warmer weather, a boon for dogknitters.

Tanya Risica from London, UK shared photos from her Facebook page FurEverKnits.

These fingerless gloves are made from 100% Leonberger. As Tanya noted, fingerless

gloves are essential for dog walks “because nothing says love like being able to open

poo bags quickly and efficiently, even in the cold!”

This headband was knit from 100% Shiba Inu and keeps her dog mom’s ears warm.

Yra Våge from southern Norway has been spinning and knitting from her Great Pyrenees for years.

Yra is modeling a beautiful tunic and head scarf made from the coat of her first Great

Pyrenees. That dog’s nephew is now part of her family.

Yra created this sweater from a friend’s Leonberger. She added some silk during the

carding process to make the yarn more vibrant. The buttons on the sweater are made

from the wood of a wild plum tree.

Carol Bournias spins and creates from a variety of breeds.

The embroidered snowflake and the little dog are made from Golden Retriever.

The heart is from a Yorkshire Terrier.
